Job Summary

The Tutor is primarily responsible for facilitating student learning and helping students understand concepts or applications of course content. This position supports students and assists them in gaining effective study skills and maximizing their potential for academic success.

Minimum weekly hours: 15
Compensation: $17.50 – $22.00 per hour

• Provide tutoring instruction to students in one or more areas.
• Provide overall academic support in assigned subject.
• Be professional, knowledgeable, and patient at all times.
• Help create a positive learning atmosphere within the Academic Support Program at all times.
• Maintain confidentiality and appropriate boundaries with students.
• Prepare supplemental materials specific to subject.
• Perform related duties as required.

• Associate's degree or higher in a related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with others.

• Prior enrollment and completion in the selected course.
• Experience as a tutor, teacher, or instructor.
• Experience with Academic Software applications.
• Experience working in an online learning environment.
• Experience working in higher education.
