Per- Diem Educational Consultant, Professional Learning - Chicago

  Professional Learning Educational Consultant (ELA or Reading)

  Temporary, part‑time, per diem

  Chicago, IL (onsite district work only; relocation to Chicago may be required)
• Hours:
  
  Per diem, scheduled as needed, paid hourly (typically during normal school hours)
• Travel:
  Approximately 80% of the time, including overnight stays; valid driver’s license and personal transportation required.
• Compensation: $30–$65 per hour, based on assignment type, including travel and training hours.

• Facilitate high‑quality professional development, training, and support for teachers and school leaders.
• Analyze data and communicate consultatively with teachers and leaders to improve instruction.
• Co‑coordinate on‑site product training and professional learning courses for teachers and administrators.
• Adjust professional learning workshops within specified parameters to meet participant needs.
• Provide tailored on‑site support, including lesson planning, pacing support, data analysis, and implementation coaching.
• Engage in continuous professional improvement through observation, feedback, and coaching.
• Track and submit detailed training notes and complete all assignments promptly.
• Present a professional image at all times to customers and prospects.

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and at least 2+ years teaching experience in ELA or Reading.
• Experience coaching teachers and providing professional development in ELA or Reading.
• Strong knowledge of the Common Core State Standards for ELA/Reading (Grades K–8).
• Comfort with digital tools, online assessments, and data‑driven instruction.
• Understanding of adult learning principles and ability to apply them to professional development.
• Excellent facilitation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Strong time‑management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Office programs and online meeting platforms (Zoom/Web Ex).
• Ability to work independently and as part of an educational cohort.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.

• Eligible for medical coverage under the Affordable Care Act after an initial waiting period, if averaging at least 30 hours per week.
