St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School in Peoria, Illinois is seeking a middle school religion and social studies teacher for the school year to nurture, teach, and inspire our young learners in a Christ centered elementary setting.
The middle school teacher will play a vital role in helping students grow spiritually, academically, and socially during the middle school years. Through engaging instruction, loving guidance, and daily opportunities to live out our Catholic faith, the teacher will help students discover their call to discipleship, grow in their Catholic faith and live a life of virtue.

Responsibilities- Middle School Classroom Teacher (Grades 5-8) with focus on Religion and Social Studies, nurturing spiritual, academic, and social growth.
- Provide engaging instruction and daily opportunities to live out Catholic faith.
- Help students grow in their Catholic faith and live a life of virtue.
- Collaborate with colleagues to foster a faith-filled learning environment and supportive school community.
- Bachelor's degree in elementary education or theology degree
- Willingness to share their Catholic faith and love of Christ with others
- Ability to innovate and differentiate in the elementary classroom to support diverse learners
- Be a living witness of faith to students
- Promotes a classroom environment that is faith-filled, safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning
- Administers the classroom and its programs and instructs using daily lesson plans
- Implements a curriculum aligned with diocesan philosophy and direction
- Directs and evaluates the learning experience of students in accordance with diocesan goals and policies
- Develops and implements curriculum for assigned courses and recommends needed curriculum revisions to the building principal
- Plans a program of study, employing a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
- Works with parents to foster and maintain a positive, cooperative relationship
- Works with grade-level and special area teachers to implement cooperative teaching efforts
- Performs all other duties reasonably related to position as may be assigned by Building Administrator or Superintendent
- Salary Range: $34,000-$65,000
