Summary

Scholar Institute positions for Scholar Institute 2026 are part‑time, seasonal employee roles that support our Golden Apple Scholars at their Scholar Institutes (SI). The position begins in mid‑April 2026 and ends no later than August 1, 2026.

Support the planning, implementation and evaluation of the Scholar Institute experience for participants, faculty, and host schools. Responsibilities include scheduling summer teaching experiences, coordinating instructional activities, assisting with faculty duties, and leading or supporting daily operations of the SI.

• Summer Teaching Experience Coordinator
  :
  Schedules summer teaching experiences for Scholars and travels to schools during the summer to supervise. Pay rate: $35 per hour up to 100 hours. Part‑time seasonal, no benefits.
• Curriculum Coordinator
  :
  Reviews and revises curriculum and curriculum sequencing to support and coach instructors at Scholar Institute. Pay rate: $40 per hour up to 288 hours. Part‑time seasonal, no benefits.
• Lead
  :
  Serves as the principal administrator at a Scholar Institute location; oversees all on‑site part‑time seasonal employees, communicates with Golden Apple staff, and supports and enhances all aspects of the Scholar experience. Requires 5+ years of teaching experience. Weekly pay rate: $2,000 plus up to $2,100 for planning before Scholar Institute. Part‑time seasonal, no benefits.
• Assistant Lead
  :
  Supports the Lead in overseeing on‑site employees and communicating with staff. Requires 5+ years of teaching experience. Weekly pay rate: $1,600 plus up to $2,100 for planning before Scholar Institute. Part‑time seasonal, no benefits.
• Reflective Seminar Instructor
  :
  Facilitates reflective seminar courses that help Scholars incorporate learning strategies into their summer practice. Requires 5+ years of teaching experience. Weekly pay rate: $800 plus up to $500 for pre‑program planning. Part‑time seasonal, no benefits.
• Instructional Support
  :
  Provides support between summer teaching experiences, professional learning communities, class instruction, resident life, and social events on campus. Pay rate: $20 per hour up to 40 hours per week, plus $150 for two nights on call, and up to $500 for pre‑program planning. Part‑time seasonal, no benefits.
• Instructor
  :
  Creates and teaches hands‑on learning experiences linked to Golden Apple Core Competencies. Pay rate: $70 per hour, plus two hours at the same rate for each distinct course assigned. Part‑time seasonal, no benefits.

Applicants should possess relevant teaching or instructional experience with a minimum of 1–5 years of classroom teaching, or leadership experience such as administrator, coach, or curriculum specialist. Specific roles require 5+ years of teaching experience (Lead, Assistant Lead, Reflective Seminar Instructor). Qualifications include knowledge of best practices in education, ability to work independently, and willingness to relocate to the university locations listed for each program cycle.
