Graduate Assistant for Campus Life Fraternity and Sorority Programs
This professionally minded individual will work directly with the Office of Campus Life in several different areas, primarily in Fraternity and Sorority Programs (FSP) advising and program coordination. Mercer’s Macon campus houses seventeen active chapters representing four councils and making up 24% of our undergraduate student population. This graduate assistant will assist the Campus Life team with general campus life student programming, service, engagement, and Campus Life marketing.
This individual must be available some evening and weekend hours.
- Plan and conduct new member workshops, manage recruitment of four councils, and coordinate the Fraternity and Sorority Life leadership retreat.
- Manage all required paperwork, lectures and trainings for FSP students throughout the year.
- Discover aspects of advising all four fraternity and sorority councils and work closely with fraternity and sorority chapter presidents on a 1‑1 basis.
- Assist with all major Campus Life events including, Bear Fair, Be a Good Neighbear, Family Weekend, Homecoming and Bearstock.
- Assist with budget development, event planning, management, and student advising.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Beginning their 1st year in the Higher Education Leadership program or Business Administration program on the Macon campus.
- Have experience as an undergraduate student in Campus Life. Ideal candidates will have held leadership positions within a fraternity or sorority chapter on campus.
- Possess a desire to work with Mercer fraternity and sorority students to develop leadership skills and knowledge.
- Extremely organized and possess excellent time management skills.
- Enthusiasm, creativity, self‑motivation and flexibility.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and in group settings with various Mercer constituencies.
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.

The position includes an option to live on campus and work with the Office of Housing and Residence Life in a graduate on‑call rotation. If there is interest, additional screening is required to determine eligibility with Housing and Residence Life.
This position will include a tuition waiver for nine credit hours per semester and a bi‑weekly stipend. The position is a two‑year agreement with flexibility in the summer. The position will begin in early July 2026. Select candidates will interview with the Campus Life staff.
Pay rate $14/hr.
