Due to an upcoming retirement, Fondulac District Library is seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and fun-loving person who enjoys working with and can build rapport with children, their caregivers, and library team members in a community-focused and collaborative environment. Duties include providing professional research and readers advisory services, creating and implementing innovative library programs, leading story times, and maintaining youth collections. In addition to the qualifications in the referenced job description, the ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess initiative, be eager to learn new technologies, have collection development experience, and be able to work confidently both independently and as part of a team.
Established in 1935 and located in East Peoria, Fondulac District Library is a busy public library in a community of just more than 20,000. The library’s current facility opened in 2013 and is at the heart of East Peoria’s thriving and growing Levee District and is central to the greater Peoria region.

HoursThis full-time position (40 hours per week) requires day, evening, and weekend work, including Sundays (September – May).
$ per hour starting. Dependent on experience, qualifications, and internal organizational equity. Includes health and life insurance benefits, paid vacation, sick, and personal time, paid holidays, IMRF participation, and an EAP.
