Job Description:

Summary:

The adjunct faculty member is responsible for providing quality teaching and learning within the Radiographer Program and maintaining established standards of Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), in collaboration with program faculty. The adjunct faculty member reports to Program Director.

Adjunct faculty teach on a part time basis up to 11-12 contact hours per fall and spring semester, up to 5-6 contact hours for summer semester, and/or 29 hours or less during an academic year. Adjunct faculty should be accessible and available to assist students and maintain office hours to best meet students' needs and ensure students' academic success.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with program director and faculty to develop course syllabus, course calendar, lesson plans, student learning outcomes, supplemental instructional materials, assignments, assessments of learning, and evaluation tools for assigned classroom, laboratory, and clinical units of instruction.
  • Participate in program faculty meetings for evaluating, reviewing, revising and planning curriculum and related learning activities and teaching opportunities.
  • Participate in Departmental and College committees, meetings, activities whenever possible.
  • Keep record of student attendance, academic progress, and grades within Canvas, and provide grading rubrics and timely student feedback.
  • Facilitate student success, in collaboration with the Program Director and program faculty, by assisting with the identification of barriers and resolution of issues, and by referring to access services, academic success, student services, counseling, financial assistance, and other academic resources.
  • Assist and advise with co-curricular or extracurricular student activities as appropriate.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships and continuous within program, department, college and community to assure student and program success.
  • Maintain effective communication.
  • Provide input into the program's budgetary process by recommending to program director, capital equipment, materials, and supplies to be included in the program's annual budget.
  • Enhance knowledge and improve teaching by participating in professional development and continuing education.
  • Schedule may include day, evening, and in person, online, or off-campus instruction.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Earned associate in applied science degree in Radiography.
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration, or equivalent, in radiography.
  • Two years of clinical experience in Radiography.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Earned bachelor's degree or higher in Radiography or related healthcare field.
  • Teaching experience in an academic program.
  • Knowledgeable of course development, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising.
  • Community college experience.
  • Ability to serve the needs of a diverse population of students.
