Process Control / Supplier Development Engineer
1-year contract (able to extend)
Peoria - 100% onsite
We're looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team and play a pivotal role in managing the sourcing and transitions of complex materials, with a specific focus on Non-metallic/Plastic/Injection Molding OR Iron Casting and Machined Iron Castings.
In this role, you'll be instrumental in ensuring quality, managing costs, and meeting timelines for project execution.
What You'll Do- Lead the successful implementation of sourcing and source moves for complex non-metallic/plastic/injection molded components or iron castings, working with both internal and external manufacturing partners.
- Drive PPAP and APQP completion as a primary function of your role.
- Analyze quote proposals to determine the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), ensuring optimal value.
- Manage the seamless transition of source moves from current to new suppliers.
- Monitor buffer inventory and coordinate tool moves associated with source changes.
- Collaborate closely with Category Buyers and Design Engineers to guarantee all quality, volume, and supplier readiness requirements are met.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to project stakeholders.
- Oversee projects from the initial quote phase through to production.
- Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of purchasing principles.
- Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
. - Exceptional attention to detail, negotiation skills, and interpersonal abilities
. - The ability to analyze financial reports, price proposals, and technical data effectively.
- Proficiency in documenting and recording customer/client information accurately.
- Basic mentoring skills to provide support and constructive feedback.
- Proven ability to evaluate suppliers.
- Familiarity with applicable laws and regulations related to purchasing.
- Knowledge of supply chain management
. - Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel
.
Experience with
Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
- PPAP and/or APQP experience is a must-have.
