Responsibilities- The Electrical Engineer is an individual contributor subject matter expert within CB&I Storage Solutions for complex electrical engineering design, analysis and development of an assigned scope of work in a CB&I project and/or specific complex deliverables such as power generation systems, substation & power distribution systems and lighting & grounding systems.
- The work includes conceptual studies, cost and planning studies, layouts, voltage drop calculations, specification development and electrical one-line diagrams.
- The PPL Electrical Engineer works independently with minimal supervision and may be responsible to train or supervise the work of a less experienced electrical engineer.
- The role reports to the Electrical Engineer Manager.
- Accurately produce deliverables per company standards and project electrical specifications.
- Adhere to regulations and bylaws of local professional engineering jurisdictions and code of ethics in protection of the public and the environment.
- Ensure electrical engineering design, analysis and development of an assigned scope of work in a CB&I project and/or specific complex deliverables such as power generation systems, substation & power distribution systems and lighting & grounding systems are safe for field and use, with constructability in mind.
- Assist with training other engineers by providing instruction on new technologies and/or a specialization.
- Support the development of new technologies and methods.
- Provide expertise and guidance to the department.
- Be regarded as a leading electrical engineer and technical expert.
- Maintain and promote a focus on CB&I's end product whether engineering, fabrication or construction.
- Ensure effective communications among other engineering disciplines.
- Coordinate with other roles and functions on the project team.
- Ensure effective change management.
- Assume responsibility for cost, schedule, quantity and budget control.
- Accredited BSEE engineering degree.
- Prefer Professional Engineering certificate of registration.
- Has 15+ years of detail electrical engineering experience.
- Is familiar with codes and standards of NEC, IEEE, NFPA and ANSI.
- Is current on new scientific engineering methods and possesses a broad technical knowledge of the detail design engineering process.
- Is capable of appropriate use of computer applications and other specialized engineering tools.
