Ciorba Group is looking for a full-time Structures Engineer IV to join the team!
Responsibilities- Perform preliminary and final design for steel and concrete highway and pedestrian bridge design, layout and detailing, including preparation of plans, calculations, and construction specifications
- Supervision of engineer and CADD work of other team members and coordination of project activities with other disciplines
- Complete projects and tasks while meeting quality standards, budget and program expectations through proactive project monitoring and control mechanisms
- Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
- Coordination of bridge inspections and report preparation
- Coordination with clients on projects and tasks and development of good working relationships with technical staff on the client side
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from accredited school. Masters preferred
- 7-10 years of experience
- IL or IN Professional Engineer license (PE); SE preferred
- Good technical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment on multi-disciplinary projects
- Working knowledge of structural analysis software
- Experience preparing plans for Illinois DOT and/or Illinois Tollway projects and understanding of AASHTO bridge design standards
- Finite Element Modeling and complex structural design experience a plus
- Bridge inspection experience, including 80-hour NHI course, preferred
