Position OverviewThe Rock Island District's Operations Division is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of a 9-foot navigation channel on 268 miles of the Illinois Waterway, from Joliet, Illinois to near Beardstown, Illinois. The navigable portions of this river and the locks and dams that allow waterway traffic to move from one pool to another are integral parts of a regional, national, and international transportation network.
