Ciorba Group is looking for a full-time Stormwater Project Engineer to join the team!
Responsibilities:
- Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of floodplains and floodways, including bridge and culvert crossings;
- Analysis of flood problem areas to identify problems, develop alternative solutions, and design recommended alternatives;
- Stormwater system analysis and design for municipal and roadway projects, including conveyance, storage, and stormwater quality best met practices;
- Design of soil erosion and sediment control practices;
- The candidate will serve as the technical lead on projects, reporting to the Project Manager, and will manage other engineers and technicians to achieve completion of project plans but may also complete certain tasks independently;
- Design tasks include calculations/models, report and plan preparation, quantity calculations, construction details, specifications, cost estimates, and other related tasks;
- Work closely with other disciplines on multi-design projects;
- Review and check engineering work completed by others;
- Maintain positive client and vendor relationships;
- Mentor staff engineers
Required Qualifications:
- Approximately 8-12 years of experience in engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from accredited school.
- Illinois Professional Engineer (PE).
- Strong technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment on multidisciplinary projects.
- Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic models, including HEC-RAS and SWMM.
- Experience on municipal and/or highway drainage design projects.
