The Automation Engineer will lead and execute manufacturing schedules to meet defined objectives. This role supports daily process development, validation activities, and change management initiatives. You will leverage your technical expertise to solve complex problems, develop and execute automation solutions, and ensure timely achievement of project objectives.
You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated manufacturing processes, working closely with cross‑functional teams to optimize production efficiency, quality, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure robots and set automated parameters for assigned projects and equipment using various robotic platforms and software.
- Assist in designing fixtures and robotic end‑of‑arm tooling per project specifications.
- Create individual parts and complete assemblies in 3D modeling tools such as Solid Works or Creo
. - Build cell/robotic simulations using Roboguide or equivalent software.
- Conduct feasibility studies and analyze manufacturing and automation processes.
- Develop technical manuals, drawings, models, training materials, preventative maintenance plans, and troubleshooting guides for automated equipment and processes.
- Interface with automated equipment and drive control systems to reduce defects, improve cycle times, and minimize machine downtime.
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to automation equipment operation.
- Train technicians and operators on products, processes, and equipment.
- Properly use power tools and measuring equipment.
- Travel up to 30% as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Practice, or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in mechanical design engineering and robotic programming for production/manufacturing operations.
- Technical
Skills: - Experience with FANUC, UR, and ABB robots
. - Strong understanding of digital logic
. - Proficiency in 3D CAD software (
Solid Works, Creo
) and robotic simulation tools (
Roboguide
). - Ability to design automation solutions, create technical documentation, and train team members.
