Job Title:
Electrical Engineer
This position supports generator set (gen-set) products used in power generation ranging from 500 kW to 2 MW. The role is hardware-focused and specification-driven, concentrating on selecting and specifying components rather than designing complete systems.
Responsibilities- Work with high-power electrical systems ranging from 2,000 to 6,000 amps, including ~4,000A breakers, and low-voltage control systems (DC, 24V, 120V).
- Focus on specifying and selecting components such as breakers, switches, cables, wire size, and bus bars.
- Interact significantly with suppliers, utilizing vendor-provided components and designs.
- Perform light work on control panels and control boxes mounted on gen sets.
- Engage minimally with software-related tasks.
- Electrical engineering knowledge with a focus on hardware and specifications.
- Working knowledge of power generation, generators, and electrical grid-type components.
- Approximately 1 year of experience, suitable for early-career candidates comfortable with hardware.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency with Caterpillar toolsets (CAT® ET, CAT® Monitoring Software, SIS Web, TMI, EDDC) is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of diesel- and natural-gas generator sets is preferred.
- Familiarity with lithium-ion energy-storage systems is a plus.
- Thorough understanding of relevant codes and standards, including NFPA 70/110, NEC, NEMA, UL, and IEEE.
- Expert-level 2D drafting in AutoCAD; 3D modeling experience is required (Inventor preferred, or comparable platforms accepted).
- Exposure to generator paralleling switch gear, remote-fuel supply, and remote cooling systems is preferred.
The role involves hands‑on exposure to hardware and requires interaction with supplier‑provided components and designs. The position is ideal for candidates seeking experience with high‑power and low‑voltage electrical systems. Dress code and shift information are not specified.

Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $39.00/hr.
