Seeking a Quality Engineer to support manufacturing quality assurance, customer requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives within a precision manufacturing environment. This role partners cross‑functionally with engineering, production, customers, and suppliers to ensure product conformity, drive process improvements, and maintain compliance with applicable quality management system standards. The position supports both new product introduction and ongoing production programs.
Responsibilities- Lead internal quality assurance activities for assigned products or programs.
- Develop and maintain quality planning documentation including PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and PPAP packages.
- Support new product introduction efforts to ensure effective process controls from prototype through production.
- Develop and optimize measurement methods using CMM and other precision inspection equipment.
- Ensure inspection and gaging practices align with GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5).
- Conduct root cause analysis using structured problem‑solving methods (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Perform statistical analysis, SPC monitoring, and capability studies (Cp/Cpk) to reduce variation and improve process performance.
- Maintain compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer‑specific requirements.
- Support internal, customer, and third‑party audits.
- Collaborate with suppliers to improve incoming quality and resolve supplier‑related issues.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding quality concerns and corrective actions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5+ years of quality engineering experience in precision manufacturing, aerospace, or similar regulated industry.
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and control plan development.
- Strong understanding of GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
- Hands‑on experience with CMM programming (PC‑DMIS or similar).
- Working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards.
- Experience with SPC, capability analysis, and data‑driven process improvement.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with statistical software (e.g., Minitab).
- Familiarity with special processes or regulated manufacturing environments.
