The Multidisciplinary Application Engineer plays a critical role in the development, validation, and launch of new products by connecting sales, applications, design, controls, quality, and production teams. This position combines hands-on engineering work with system-level design responsibility, supporting hydraulic and electro-hydraulic products from early concept through manufacturing.
You will work closely with both on-site and remote engineers to translate system concepts into manufacturable, reliable solutions. The role includes designing hydraulic components and assemblies, executing test and validation activities, and supporting prototype and production builds to ensure successful product realization.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and Documentation
- Create, revise, and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for hydraulic components and assemblies
- Support the design and integration of electro-hydraulic systems, including sensors, valves, and control modules
- Generate and maintain accurate engineering documentation within PDM and ERP systems
- Participate in engineering change processes and new product development initiatives
Test and Validation
- Develop and execute test procedures for prototype and production systems
- Set up, instrument, and operate hydraulic and electro-hydraulic test benches
- Document test results and support root-cause analysis for performance or durability issues
- Collaborate with applications and controls engineers to validate hardware and software integration
Production and Prototype Support
- Work closely with assembly and machining teams to ensure manufacturability and design intent
- Assist with prototype builds, fixture design, and validation testing
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to prototypes or production units
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to manufacturing processes, tooling, and testing
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with applications, design, and controls engineers to ensure integrated system performance
- Communicate effectively with sales, quality, and operations teams to align technical requirements and project goals
- Engage with customers to clarify requirements, provide technical support, and verify product performance
- Contribute to research and development efforts for new hydraulic and electronic product lines
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Fluid Power, or a related field
- 2 to 5 years of experience in hydraulic system design, fluid power testing, or electro-hydraulic integration
- Strong proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and 2D drafting, Solid Works preferred

- Exposure to PLC and HMI systems or mobile controls
