Description

The position will provide leadership in strategic capacity planning for Caterpillar facilities and product groups. Primary responsibilities will be establishing capacity needs, executing statistical analysis of product demand, and providing insights into current state capabilities and future needs.

Job Duties

Responsible for leading cross functional projects focused on capacity, agility, and associated supply chain concepts. The role facilitates the EPP enterprise capacity process and ECR-C component capacity planning process.

Performs planning of the enterprise capacity planning transformational program. The role is instrumental in facilitating and executing Capacity and Agility processes with Prime Product Groups and Facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identifying, defining, leading implementation of integrated supply chain solutions and performance improvements.
  • Establishing and strengthening effective linkages, partnerships, and best practices with business partners and internal functions.
  • Investigating and incorporating industry benchmarks, metrics and best practices to develop optimal supply chains for suppliers and/or product sets.
  • Leads the development and analyzes data and information to identify and prioritize opportunities for improving facility capacity and supply chain performance.
Top Candidates Will Bring
  • Bachelors degree in Engineer or related technical field or other bachelors degree with extensive related experience.
  • 3+ years of Supply Chain or Manufacturing Experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exposure to CNC machining and turning operations (including milling, turning, drilling, tapping, boring.)
  • Background in heavy manufacturing or quality engineering, with a desire to advance into a leadership role.
Skills You Will Need
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Cross-Team Integration: Understanding of the importance of inter-team collaboration in breaking down silos and achieving business results; ability to lead employees from various functions to communicate, coordinate work across divisions, and collaborate in solving problems as one team.
  • Supplier Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.
  • Supply Chain Management - MFG: Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use, strategies, practices and tools for controlling the logistical processes.
