Construction Engineering Technician

• Observe and document construction activities for transportation projects (e.g., roadways, trails) and water system projects (e.g., water mains, plant upgrades).
• Represent the project owner/client in the field.
• Verify that construction work is completed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and standards.
• Coordinate with internal office staff, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Conduct site visits and field inspections as required.
• Maintain accurate and detailed project documentation.
• Communicate progress, issues, and updates effectively to project teams.

• High school diploma or equivalent required;
  Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil construction.
• Experience with construction observation for DOTs, Local Public Agencies, or Utility Companies (e.g., IDOT) is a plus.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills.
