Structural Engineer

This position supports our
** Industry Market
** within the
** Building Structural Discipline**, working on industrial, building, and facilities projects, as well as structural work across all Hanson markets. The role is based in
** Peoria, IL**.
* Support the structural needs of industrial sites and integrate structural design with civil, rail, and mechanical disciplines
* Perform complex engineering calculations and utilize structural design software for analysis and design
* Conduct structural analysis, prepare specifications, details, and construction plans
* Assist with site investigations, field reconnaissance, modeling, construction document preparation, contractor pricing assistance, and project close‐out documentation
* Mentor and assign duties to entry‐level staff
* Prepare and review calculations, quantity take‐offs, and opinions of probable construction costs
* Other duties as assigned
* Proficiency with
** Revit** (required)
* Experience with
** AutoCAD** (desirable)
* Experience with
** Micro Station** (a plus)
* Proficiency with
** MS Office Suite** (required)
* Experience with structural design software such as
** RISA** (required)
* Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to engineers, clients, and stakeholders
* Strong relationship‐building skills with internal and external clients
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively to solve problems and learn new skills
* Interest in a variety of assignments and continuous professional development
* ** 5–15 years
** of structural engineering experience (desirable)
* ** PE license** (desirable)
* ** SE license
** or ability to obtain one (required)
* ** Master’s degree in Structural Engineering** (desirable)
* Ability to collaborate remotely with colleagues across offices
* Willingness to accept periodic out‐of‐town travel assignments
* Willingness and ability to work overtime to meet project deadlines
