Position: Process Control Engineer*

Process Control Engineer

Our client, a global chemical manufacturer, is seeking a Process Control Engineer to support and improve manufacturing operations through process automation, controls optimization, and troubleshooting. This position is responsible for maintaining and enhancing DCS, PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems while partnering with production and maintenance teams to improve reliability, efficiency, and plant performance.

Responsibilities
  • Support and troubleshoot DeltaV DCS, PLC, HMI, SCADA, and MES systems.
  • Develop, modify, and optimize PLC programs and ladder logic.
  • Provide day-to-day controls support to minimize production downtime.
  • Lead controls-related upgrades, automation projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support system startups, commissioning, testing, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation, control loops, networks, and process control systems.
  • Serve as the site controls SME and work with operations, maintenance, engineering, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company standards.
Qualifications
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of process control and automation experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience with DeltaV DCS, PLC programming, ladder logic, HMI, and SCADA systems.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley, Control Logix, SLC, ABB, Bailey, Aspen, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of process instrumentation, PID control loops, Ethernet/IP, and Modbus communications.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to support multiple manufacturing facilities and participate in on-call support as needed.
