Senior Fund Accountant | Chicago, IL (hybrid)

We’re partnering with a growing private investment firm to hire a Senior Fund Accountant to join its Fund Accounting team. This role supports a portfolio of alternative investment funds and offers meaningful exposure to senior leadership, cross‑functional teams, and external service providers.

• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly fund financials, including NAVs, investor capital account statements, and internal reporting packages
• Oversee fund‑level transaction activity, including cash movements, investment activity, expense allocations, and distributions
• Review and coordinate with third‑party fund administrators to ensure accurate and timely reporting
• Support investor capital activity, including subscriptions, capital calls, and distributions
• Monitor fund expenses, accruals, and fee calculations
• Assist with annual audits and ongoing tax‑related reporting, working closely with external advisors
• Partner with internal stakeholders across accounting, operations, legal, and compliance
• Contribute to process improvements, controls, and systems enhancements
• Support ad‑hoc reporting and special projects as needed

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA or CPA‑eligible preferred
• 4+ years of experience in fund accounting or public accounting (financial services focus preferred)
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and private fund accounting concepts
• Experience supporting alternative investment funds (structure, capital activity, performance reporting) a plus
• Strong Excel skills; experience with fund accounting systems or administrators is helpful
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
• Self‑starter who thrives in a lean, collaborative environment
