The Director of Accountin
g leads the Tax, Collections/Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable functions within the organization

• Directly and indirectly supervises the Tax, Collections/Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable teams, including the Manager, Accounts Payable;
  Manager, Collections;
  Manager, Tax; and related support staff

• Provide strategic direction and operational oversight to the Tax, Collections/AR, and Accounts Payable teams, setting priorities that align with the company’s financial goals and growth trajectory
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, establishing clear performance expectations, conducting regular evaluations, and building leadership depth across all functional areas
• Partner with the VP of Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning, contributing operational expertise and functional perspective to enterprise-level decisions
• Oversee multi-state tax compliance including income, franchise, sales/use, and payroll tax obligations across all operating jurisdictions
• Ensure the organization’s tax positions are defensible, current, and aligned with evolving federal, state, and local regulations
• Manage relationships with external tax advisors, coordinate tax audits, and oversee remediation of any compliance findings
• Identify tax planning opportunities that reduce the organization’s effective tax rate while maintaining full regulatory compliance
• Drive measurable improvement in cash collection performance, ensuring the revenue cycle supports the company’s cash flow and working capital objectives
• Oversee billing accuracy, collections effectiveness, and cash application processes, establishing KPIs and holding the team accountable to performance targets
• Develop and enforce credit and collections policies that balance client relationship preservation with financial discipline
• Provide executive-level reporting on AR aging, collection trends, write-off activity, and cash forecasting
• Oversee AP operations to ensure accurate, timely, and policy-compliant processing of all vendor invoices, payments, and expense transactions
• Optimize payment terms, vendor relationships, and disbursement timing to support cash management objectives
• Ensure AP internal controls are robust, including proper segregation of duties, approval workflows, and 1099 compliance
• Identify and implement process improvements, system enhancements, and automation opportunities that increase efficiency, reduce risk, and position the finance function to scale with the company’s growth
• Establish and monitor KPIs across all functional areas, using data to drive decisions, allocate resources, and report on performance to the VP, Finance

• Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, multi-state tax compliance, and internal controls.
• Proven track record of driving process improvement, building scalable financial operations, and improving cash collection performance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience with 4+ years in a leadership role overseeing multiple financial functio
