Program OverviewCollege Financial Representatives in the internship program at Northwestern Mutual—Skokie, IL, West Loop, IL, Lombard, IL, Elgin, IL, Vernon Hills, IL—are given guidance, connection, and a framework for building an integrated financial planning practice from the ground up. You will build a professional network, develop confidence, and help people achieve financial freedom.
Key Responsibilities- Prospect and network to build your business and client base
- Develop and execute a business strategy
- Call on potential clients and set meetings to understand their financial goals
- Prepare plans and offer useful recommendations
- Gain exposure to proprietary planning software platforms
- Participate in weekly coaching, training, and development meetings
- Obtain Life, Accident, and Health insurance licenses
- Build life skills that create future career opportunities
- Flexible schedule that works around your classes
- Year‑round internship option with support for registrations and certifications (Series 6 & 63, CFP®, SIE)
