Position Summary

At Busey, our tellers develop relationships with customers by offering best-in-class customer service, asking targeted questions, and providing accurate and efficient banking transactions. In this role, tellers focus on the customer experience—greeting, listening to understand needs, and utilizing resources for a prompt solution. The ideal teammate enjoys working and building relationships with others.

• Facilitate an excellent customer service experience while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
• Complete customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including cash handling.
• Refer customers to bankers for further discovery of products and services that may be valuable.
• Balance cash drawer daily with a high degree of accuracy.
• Seek manager assistance when suspicious transaction activity is spotted or additional clearance is needed for transaction amount/type.
• Perform scanning work for image branch capture.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of strong customer service skills, strong interpersonal communication, bank compliance, security, and operational policies.
• Ability to learn to operate basic office equipment and systems at teller terminal.
• Accurately count money and make decisions under frequent time pressures.
• Stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

• High School diploma (or equivalent).
• Cash handling experience is preferred.

Salary offered is based on factors such as job duties, required qualifications, relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance. (Base Pay Range: $16.50‑$18.00/hour)
