PurposeThe Global R&D Senior Study Forecasting Analyst is responsible for supporting and performing financial analyses and budgetary reconciliations of Immunology clinical trial budgets. The Senior analyst monitors study forecasts and manages study expenses and forecasts for Plan, LBE, LRP and Portfolio submissions. This position interfaces with clinical teams, finance management and supports ad‑hoc requests and projects.
Responsibilities- The Senior Analyst is accountable for a specific set of clinical study budgets within a Therapeutic Area, supporting both ongoing and planned studies. The analyst uses financial and tracking tools to prepare, develop, and monitor forecasts monthly and reconcile for quarterly reviews.
- Supports all aspects of the clinical trial budget process including trial cost analysis, scenario planning, contract funding approval, and study budget management through the study life‑cycle.
- Gathers data from a variety of sources to provide quality clinical study budget information and metrics to Clinical and Finance Management to aid in planning decisions.
- Prepares predefined and ad‑hoc reports for clinical teams and finance management, communicating timely on variance discrepancies and issue resolution.
- Supports the business in assessing and investigating study spend vs. forecast.
- Updates forecasts at a regular cadence (monthly LBE, quarterly R/OSS, 50%/100% enrollment time points, annual cost validation) and informs manager of study status (startup, main R/OSS, reconciliation, close‑out).
- Interacts with various levels of management and functions within the organization.
- Supports finance management on ad‑hoc requests and projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Health sciences.
- Minimum of 4+ years of progressive and related experience.
- Strong financial, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to derive insights from data and distill into summarized format.
- Fast learner, grasps the “essence” and changes course quickly as indicated.
- Self‑starter capable of operating independently, driving processes, identifying and implementing improvements, establishing and adjusting priorities to achieve objectives with speed and agility.
- Builds strong relationships with peers and cross‑functionally with partners outside the team to enable higher performance.
- Excellent time management and self‑management skills.
- Proficient Excel skills; knowledge of SAP and PowerBI is a plus.
- The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and may ultimately be more or less than the posted range.
