Pay range for this position is $34.25 - $51.13/hour. Actual pay is based on years of licensure. This is a salaried position.
This position has a hybrid-working schedule. Will discuss in more detail with the leader.
OverviewPOSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist is a resource for improving the overall quality, integrity and completeness of clinical documentation within the medical record. The position will facilitate the completion of documentation by physicians, allied health professionals, nurses and other patient care givers that accurately reflect the severity of illness, risk of mortality and treatment provided. The CDI specialist conducts concurrent review of medical records to ensure that documentation supports accurate diagnostic and procedural coding and DRG assignment while adhering to documentation guidelines provided by regulatory bodies.
This position may require an adjusted work schedule, including weekends with alternate days off, to provide operational coverage.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- BSN is required within 6 years of hire
- 2 years clinical experience in a hospital setting
- Licensure/
Certifications:
Registered Nurse in current state (IL) - Other Skills/Knowledge:
Demonstrates excellent observation skills, analytical thinking, problem solving, plus good verbal and written communication skills.
