Position: PUBLIC HEALTH TECHNICIAN (TITLE 32) with Security Clearance
Duties As a PUBLIC HEALTH TECHNICIAN (TITLE 32), GS-0640-8, you will achieve and maintain Force Health Protection through planning, evaluating, and management principles related to epidemiological, operational, and occupational and public health programs. This includes occupational health, hearing conservation, reproductive health, blood borne pathogens exposure control, communicable disease control, immunization, disease vector surveillance, disease/epidemiological surveillance, aircraft inspection, facility sanitation, food safety and vulnerability, health risk assessment, medical intelligence, and operational medicine.

Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list:
* Manage OSHA and AFOSH mandated occupational health education and training program and DODI requirement.
* Analyze Bioenvironmental Engineering Industrial Hygiene Survey data and determine need for occupational health medical examination (OHME) IAW OSHA and AFOSH standard.
* Implement and oversee DOEHRS-HC Hearing Conservation Program and ensure required audiometric testing and follow-up action.
* Ensure appropriate documentation, reporting, and disposition of occupational injury/illness incident IAW OSHA reporting instruction.
* Review and execute immunization policy and guidance for routine, mandatory, and deployment-specific requirement and update AFCITA database accordingly.
* Research OSHA, AFOSH, CDC, and DOD guidance to determine occupational health surveillance scope and frequency.
* Review Department of Defense study and scientific compliance data to identify target organ and biological index for medical testing.
* Research and evaluate vector information of local medical importance in coordination with regional health agency.
* Study epidemiological and toxicological pathway to develop communicable disease prevention and control strategy.
* Research and evaluate country-specific disease and environmental factor affecting deployed personnel to determine pre- and post-deployment medical requirement.
* Analyze OHME result and develop workplace-specific trend summary, identify deviation from normal value, and recommend follow-up action.
* Determine work-relatedness of occupational injury/illness incident and recommend corrective or preventive action.
* Evaluate food facility inspection finding and recommend suspension of operation until critical discrepancy correct.
* Identify personnel at risk for blood borne pathogen exposure and coordinate exposure control plan and follow-up activity.
* Assess reproductive and fetal risk factor in workplace and determine need for work restriction and medical profile recommendation.
* Select the one statement that most accurately describes your training and experience carrying out each task using the scale provided.
* Coordinate occupational health medical examination within MDG and recommend suitability for job placement based on pre-placement result.
* Advise and consult with wing leadership, workplace supervisor, and installation official on occupational health and communicable disease matter.
* Educate employee and supervisor on hearing protection device use, hazard communication requirement, and disease prevention strategy.
* Prepare and distribute inspection or surveillance report and communicate finding and required follow-up action to appropriate council or committee.
* Serve as Public Health liaison for host/tenant agreement and coordinate full-spectrum training and support need. Requirements Conditions of employment
