Schedule:
40 hours/Week
Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PMPay Range for Traveler: $1,950.00- $2,006.00 Weekly DOEJob Summary
- Provide direct and indirect surgical technology care and services
- Assist surgeons during operative and invasive procedures
- Serve as a resource to other technologists
- Train new technologists and students
- Function as informal lead technologist when needed
- Utilize certification knowledge to mentor peers and improve performance
- Prepare for surgeon-specific procedures in a timely and efficient manner
- Ensure instruments, equipment, and sutures are appropriate and functional
- Set up sterile field prior to patient entering the room
- Maintain organized back table and Mayo stand
- Avoid unnecessary opening of supplies and use resources wisely
- Anticipate surgeon needs and adjust as required
- Collaborate with surgeons before and during procedures
- Scrub on simple to complex cases across multiple specialties
- Independently manage Mayo stand
- Adapt to surgeon techniques and preferences
- Anticipate sequence of steps (clamp, cut, tie, etc.)
- Respond promptly to subtle cues during procedures
- Identify needs proactively to prevent delays
- Perform first scrub, first assist, and second scrub roles
- Assist with case closing activities and patient turnover
- Prepare for unexpected intra-operative events
- Maintain calm and confident behavior in emergencies
- Protect patient privacy at all times
- Mentor and precept staff, students, and RNs
- Demonstrate strong critical thinking and clinical judgment
- Communicate effectively with surgical team
- Perform accurate instrument and supply counts with circulating RN
Experience:
- Minimum 1+ years surgical tech experience
- Certificate of completion from a Surgical Technology program
- BLS – American Heart Association (Required)
