Key Responsibilities of the Radiation Therapist

Administer radiation treatments safely and accurately based on oncologist prescriptions
Operate advanced radiation‑therapy equipment including linear accelerators
Position patients expertly using immobilization devices and imaging tools
Monitor physiological responses and patient comfort
Document treatment details in alignment with facility and regulatory standards
Educate patients and families about treatment expectations and side effects
Participate in equipment QA and safety protocols

Requirements of the Radiation Therapist

ARRT (T) certification
Illinois state licensure (if required)
Current BLS certification
At least 2 years of recent Radiation Therapy experience
