Job Description:

Actual pay is based on years of licensure. This is an hourly position.
POSITION SUMMARY: The RN Virtual Acute Care provides digital care to a diverse population of patients across OSF through technology across a variety of environments. The Virtual Acute Care RN provides patient care that includes comprehensive symptom assessment, patient education, preventative care, acute psychosocial support, and timely individualized age and developmentally appropriate care for the patients. Utilizes critical thinking, evidence-based care and clinical decision support to guide practice.
Performs ongoing communication and works to promote quality of care through collaboration with all care team members, patients and families. Acts as a patient advocate and resource to other health care providers. The RN demonstrates service excellence and accountability through recognizing the direct relationship between cost-effective and efficient provision of care and services including the impact of access to care.

This position serves as part of the Virtual Nursing (ViRN) team, primarily supporting admissions, discharges, and medication reconciliation processes for inpatients at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center and affiliated units. Key Functions Include:
Conducting comprehensive admission interviews and discharge teaching via virtual technology.
- Performing accurate and timely medication reconciliation in collaboration with bedside nurses, pharmacists, and providers.
- Documenting within EPIC using standardized workflows and ensuring compliance with Joint Commission NPSG 03.06.01 on medication safety.
- Partnering with the bedside nursing team to streamline throughput, reduce delays, and improve patient experience.
Required Qualifications
- Education:
Associate degree in nursing - Experience:
2 years of recent acute care RN experience. - Licensure/ Certification: IL Registered Nurse License
- Other Skills/ Knowledge:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. - Must be able to type 60 WPM.

BSN - Experience:
3 years of related acute clinical experience.
