American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer for a non-invasive cardiovascular unit, requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience, ARDMS or CCI credentialing, and Epic EMR proficiency.
Requirements- Minimum of 3 years of applicable echo/cardiac sonography experience
- Associate's Degree in Ultrasound required
- ARDMS or CCI credentialing in Echocardiography required
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency with software-driven testing machines and digital archive systems
- Knowledge of gross and sectional cardiac anatomy
- Ability to recognize imaging artifacts and distinguish normal from abnormal cardiac findings
- Proficiency in pediatric echocardiography
- License required if applicable
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Non-invasive cardiovascular unit in an acute care hospital setting
- Adult patient population with focus on cardiac imaging and stress testing
- Procedures include 2D echocardiography, Doppler studies (color flow, pulsed wave, continuous wave), M-Mode, contrast echocardiography, dobutamine and exercise stress echocardiograms, and TEE assistance
- Epic EMR experience required
- Day shift, Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts with flexible start times between 6:45 AM and 7:30 AM (primary shift: 7:15 AM–3:45 PM)
- 40 hours per week, 5 days per week
- On-call rotation includes weekday callback (4:00 PM–7:00 AM) and rotating weekend on-call
- Holiday coverage on a rotating basis
- May float to affiliated hospital campuses within the health system
- Performs 2D echo cardiographic studies across four windows (parasternal, apical, subcostal, suprasternal notch), Doppler assessments, M-Mode measurements, and contrast echocardiography
- Assists cardiologists with transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) and stress testing (dobutamine, exercise, pharmacological, and cardiolite)
- Identifies EKG abnormalities and arrhythmias, including lethal arrhythmias, and escalates findings to the cardiologist as appropriate
- Correlates patient clinical history with exam findings and communicates results to the cardiologist in a timely manner
- Participates in mobile echo/vascular service regionally and in callback rotation
- Completes quarterly competencies in stress lab, Holter monitoring, and event monitoring
- RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
- Candidates who have been on assignment at this health system for 1 continuous year must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
- First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but 3 years of experience is required
