Expected pay for this position is $20.41 - $24.01/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY
: A Polysomnographic Trainee develops competency in and performs the basics of polysomnographic testing and associated interventions under clinical guidance of a Polysomnographic Technologist. Collaborates with the Medical Director, Leadership, staff and patients to achieve optimal efficiency and success in sleep disorder function testing and scoring.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
:

  • Education:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • License/

    Certifications:
  • BLS certified or obtained within 6 months of hire
  • Experience:
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to explain procedures to patient to alleviate their apprehensions and gain their cooperation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
:

  • Education:
  • An associate's degree in an allied healthcare field (respiratory care or neurodiagnostics).
  • Experience:
  • 6 months of direct patient care
  • Other Skills and Knowledge:
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit(s) or by their department.
  • This requires that the incumbent demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of the patient population served.
  • Analytical skills necessary to collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative statistical data and conduct diagnostic procedures.
