Overview

Avento Health is recruiting a qualified Behavior Analyst, BCBA, BCaBA, Behavior Support Specialist, or Psychologist for a full-time opportunity with a nonprofit developmental disabilities services organization in Peoria, Illinois.

This role is a strong fit for a clinician or behavior support provider who has experience developing behavior support plans, completing behavioral assessments, supporting direct care teams, and working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential or community-based settings.

The position offers meaningful clinical work, schedule flexibility, strong mission alignment, and no set minimum billable hours requirement. The provider will support individuals in home and community environments while collaborating with direct care staff, guardians, and interdisciplinary team members.

Sign-on and relocation assistance may be available for eligible candidates who commit to one year of employment.

Important Credentialing and Provider Requirements

Candidates must meet at least one of the following qualification paths:

  • Licensed Psychologist
  • Active Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification through the BACB
  • Active Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst certification through the BACB
  • Current Illinois DHS Level II behavior provider approval
  • Clear eligibility for Illinois DHS Level II approval, pending formal approval

To qualify through the Illinois DHS Level II pathway, candidates typically must have a bachelor’s degree in a human services field, documented ABA coursework or training hours, documented supervision by a Psychologist or BCBA, and experience writing behavior support plans.

An offer cannot be finalized for candidates using the DHS Level II pathway until the required DHS approval letter is obtained. Candidates who clearly meet the qualification requirements and are pending approval may still be considered for an initial conversation.

Anyone hired for this role will also need to apply as an Illinois Medicaid provider. Support with this process is typically available after hire. Candidates who have already started or completed Illinois Medicaid provider enrollment are strongly preferred, but this is not required for consideration.
