OSF Health Care is seeking an experienced Cath Lab Technician to join its Cath Lab team. The department operates 6 cath lab suites and performs approximately 10–15 cases per day. The technician will be responsible for scrubbing, monitoring hemodynamics, and circulating during procedures.

The Cath Lab is a separate department from Interventional Radiology (IR) and Electrophysiology (EP).

• Scrub for cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Monitor and document hemodynamic information.
• Circulate during procedures as assigned.
• Provide support for Cath Lab procedures in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Participate in the department's rotating call schedule.
• Respond to call within 30 minutes of being paged.
• Follow hospital policies, procedures, and patient-safety standards.
• Work rotating weekends and holidays as scheduled.

• Previous Cath Lab experience is required.
• Pediatric experience is preferred, but not required.
• Experience with McKesson Cardiology is preferred.
• PACS experience is preferred.
• Required certifications:
  • ARRT
  • BLS
  • IEMA
• Active Illinois license or confirmation that the Illinois license application process has been initiated.

• 6 Cath Lab suites/labs
• Approximately 10–15 cases per day
• Cardiologists are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
• A primary charge nurse is present from 0600–1530.
• The primary charge nurse does not routinely complete cases but will participate in call.
• Techs are not currently required to float.
• Hospital-provided scrubs are available.
• Department-specific orientation is typically 3–5 days.

• 9-hour shifts.
• Rotating weekends and holidays.
• Weeknight call is assigned on a rotational basis.
• Weekend call is assigned on a rotational basis.
• Typically 8–9 call shifts per month.
• Holidays are assigned on a rotating basis.
• 30-minute call response time from the time of page.
• A mandatory call list is utilized when staff members are unable to fulfill their assigned call shift.

• Local Rate: Clinicians with a permanent address within 50 miles receive a $25 reduction from the regular and overtime bill rates.
• Call-Off Policy: Equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks may be called off without penalty or requirement to pay for the shift.
• Orientation: Up to 12 hours of orientation are non-billable. Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation.
• OSF is a Drug-Free Campus, and candidates must be able to produce a negative drug screen for all required panels.
