In collaboration with the Director of Technology and the District Network Manager, the Lead Tech provides strategic leadership and coordination for district-wide initiatives, including 1-to-1 mobile device deployments and staff development. This role serves as the primary "customer service face" of the department, managing the work order queue and providing high-level support to administration and staff. The ideal candidate possesses advanced proficiency in Apple products, Chromebooks, and Google Workspace, with a focus on streamlining classroom technology integration and managing student safety/web-filtering systems to ensure a seamless educational environment.
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 years experience coordinating technology
- Requires experience with Apple hardware and management software
- Requires professional Interpersonal Skills
- Requires strong organizational skills and coordination of multiple projects
- Level 1 and 2 Google Certification (or ability to obtain) preferred.
Essential duties of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supervise the technicians
- Research and recommend Hardware needs in the Educational setting
- Manage and oversee the Asset management system for the district
- Coordinate, as needed, with C&I on professional development for instructional staff throughout the district when new hardware is put into place
- Supervise and assign district work order (currently through IQ), report out to Director of Technology
- Device Deployment, Management, EOY Collection/BOY Distribution/ Classroom collection and Distribution in coordination with the building technician
- Coordinate preventative maintenance for technology systems throughout the district
- Verify operational effectiveness of equipment and software through interactions with students, administration and staff
- Occasionally serve as a host or facilitator for technology training
- Provide instructional support to staff using the Chromebooks, Google Workspace, iPad
- Build awareness and generate enthusiasm for technology resources.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of available digital resources and device usage in the district; upgrade technology skills as needed
- Project Management/Technology and systems projects
- Responsible for 1 to 1 Chromebook and iPad management
- Occasionally perform work outside of the standard work week when workload requires and is approved
- Follow and maintain knowledge of all district policies and procedures
- Assist Director of Technology and district E-Rate Consultant with E-Rate Cat. 1 and 2
- Google Admin for the District
- Organise all AV and Data projects that are done in house
- Work with all Technology outside vendors
