Caterpillar’s Treasury Technology Team within Corporate Treasury is a global, dynamic group that combines treasury expertise with innovative technology to deliver impactful solutions across the Caterpillar enterprise. This team is uniquely positioned to be at the forefront of treasury technology and is looking to hire a Data Scientist to join the team.

What You Will Do

  • Perform advanced analytical tasks and initiatives on large volumes of Treasury data to support data-driven business decisions and strategic development.
  • Lead the data gathering, mining, and processing of large datasets; design and implement sophisticated data models.
  • Explore, promote, and apply semantic data capabilities through Natural Language Processing, text analysis, and machine learning techniques.
  • Drive requirements gathering and scoping of data analyses; deliver actionable business insights to management using cutting-edge data visualization technologies.
  • Conduct research on data model optimization and algorithms to enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of data analyses.
What You Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, economics, mathematics, or a related field with quantitative coursework.
  • 4-5 years of professional experience in data science, analytics, or a related field, with demonstrated ability to handle increasingly complex assignments.
  • Effective Communication:
    Exceptional communication skills, sound judgment, and a customer-focused mindset, with the ability to take initiative and work autonomously.
  • Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving:
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to solve complex problems using data-driven approaches.
  • Accuracy & Attention to Detail:
    Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines in fast-paced environments while delivering high-quality user training and business process support, ensuring long-term efficiency, effectiveness, and precision.
  • Continuous Learning & Professional Development:
    Demonstrates a passion for financial technology and a commitment to exploring innovative solutions within the treasury domain while staying updated on emerging technologies and best practices in data science to drive professional growth and develop expertise.
What Will Set You Apart
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis, modeling, and production-level development.
  • Expertise in data visualization tools, particularly Microsoft Power BI, including advanced DAX scripting and dashboard creation/administration.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, especially AWS, and proficiency in writing infrastructure as code (IaC) using AWS Cloud Formation.

Summary Pay Range $95,640.00 - $ Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
