Position Overview

The Senior Manager of Lab Implementation leads the execution, and oversight of in-office dental lab implementations across the Aspen Dental network. This role is pivotal in scaling the Aspen Dental digital dentistry capabilities and ensuring consistent lab performance through the deployment of standardized workflows, technologies, and training programs. The Senior Manager oversees a team of implementation managers to ensure the seamless integration for lab related initiatives including but not limited to:
Intraoral Scanning, Digital Dentures, Analog Dentures, and operational lab support. A critical aspect of this role is driving accountability across teams, maintaining consistent quality, and ensuring on‑time project delivery. The ideal candidate will be an experienced project leader with strong knowledge of dental lab operations and a passion for innovation, efficiency, and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership:
    Execute the implementation strategy for innovations for our in-office labs, aligning with organizational goals, growth plans, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Team Oversight:
    Lead, mentor, and develop a team of lab implementation managers, set clear objectives and ensure accountability for performance and outcomes.
  • Project Governance:
    Oversee the planning and execution of multiple lab process launches and technology upgrades across diverse regions, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and compliance standards.
  • Cross‑Functional Coordination:
    Collaborate with operations, clinical leadership, L&D, procurement, IT, and vendor partners to streamline implementation processes and resource allocation.
  • Accountability & Reporting:
    Use KPIs, tracking systems, and feedback loops to ensure accountability across stakeholders and maintain visibility into implementation progress.
  • Standardization & Optimization:
    Enforce standardized workflows and training programs, and create SOPs and documentation to ensure operational consistency and scalability.
  • Digital Technology Integration:
    Ensure successful onboarding of digital dentistry equipment (CAD/CAM, 3D printers, scanners, milling machines) and lab management software across practices.
  • Change Management:
    Drive user adoption of new systems and processes by fostering alignment, providing structured training, and addressing resistance or performance gaps.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Identify opportunities for operational improvements and innovation based on performance data and field feedback; implement solutions to optimize outcomes.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in dental lab operations, clinical implementations, or healthcare project management, including 2+ years in a leadership or multi‑site role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross‑functional projects in a DSO or multi‑location healthcare organization.
  • Deep understanding of digital dental technologies and workflows (e.g., CAD/CAM systems, 3

    Shape, Exocad, intraoral scanning, 3D printing).
  • Proven track record of driving accountability and delivering measurable results across teams and initiatives.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel 80% of the time to support lab rollouts and team engagement across practice locations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience scaling in‑office lab programs within a fast‑growing DSO or enterprise dental environment.
  • Knowledge of dental lab management systems and integrated digital case workflows.
  • Experienced user of 3

    Shape Trios scanning and Sprint Ray 3D printing technology.
  • Adaptability in a fast‑paced environment.

Expected pay is $100k+ salary range depending on experience.
