Salary Range (commensurate with experience): $24.85 – 33.01 per annum

This position is not remote and is onsite in Peoria, IL.

The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria educates approximately 244 medical students and nearly 300 physician residents annually. The campus is known for its small class sizes, rigorous curriculum, hands‑on clerkships, and strong academic setting.

Under the general supervision of the Director Clinical Data Analysis, the Clinical Practice Data Analyst acquires, interprets, and analyzes complex data. The analyst works with business leaders to ensure data accuracy and usefulness, and delivers information through reports and dashboards.

• Capture data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and design reports.
• Identify visual data mapping strategies for departmental and campus‑wide financial data.
• Use analytical skills to evaluate complex data trends.
• Harvest data from the current EMR system, conduct analysis, and prepare reports/charts for managerial review; provide education on data interpretation.
• Define and manage key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and benchmarks related to healthcare quality, revenue cycle management, medical education, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage and update KPIs on the strategic plan dashboards.
• Ensure data sources are accurate, up‑to‑date, and aligned with best practices and organizational goals.
• Analyze trends, variances, and progress toward strategic goals.
• Develop data‑driven recommendations and visualizations to communicate insights and facilitate strategic decision‑making.
• Maintain a repository of information and coordinate reporting activities with various departments to verify data integrity for internal and affiliate use.
• Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Data Analysis to understand organizational needs, transform data into meaningful information, and brainstorm improved presentation methods.
• Stay abreast of new business intelligence tools, systems, and best practices.

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Information Management, Healthcare Information, Nursing, Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Finance, Management Engineering, Business, or a closely related field.
• One (1) year (12 months) of data management/analysis experience in a clinical or healthcare‑related field.

Applicants possessing a Master’s degree in a closely related field meet the requirements for the first qualification.
