WATER Pollution Control, FIELD Operations Section, Section Manager - SPSA Opt. 4

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency seeks a Senior Public Service Administrator to serve as manager of the Division of Water Pollution Control Field Operations Section, overseeing seven regional field offices across the state. The role develops and implements statewide compliance inspection programs for water pollution sources in fulfillment of state and federal environmental laws. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

• Four years of college-level education plus four years of progressively responsible administrative work experience inspecting water pollution control facilities and managing compliance or enforcement p
• Four years of experience conducting field investigations and inspections at municipal or industrial wastewater treatment facilities
• Four years of experience supervising professional staff in water pollution control programs
• Valid/current driver''s license and ability to travel
• Ability to become HAZWOPER certified within 90 days and maintain annually
• Ability to be on-call 24/7 and respond to emergencies including hiking, wading, and swimming
