Overview

The Assistant Foundry Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day foundry operations during second shift, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. Reporting directly to the Foundry Manager, this role provides hands-on leadership to production teams, supports continuous improvement efforts, and ensures operational targets are met while maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise second-shift foundry operations to meet production, quality, and delivery goals.
  • Provide direct leadership to supervisors and production employees on the shop floor.
  • Ensure proper staffing, training, and work assignments for second-shift operations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for foundry operations during second shift.
  • Enforce all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and lead by example on the shop floor.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor daily production performance and address issues impacting throughput, scrap, or downtime.
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, productivity, quality, and cost.
  • Provide clear shift handoff communication to first-shift leadership.
  • Report key metrics, production issues, and staffing concerns to the Foundry Manager.
  • Maintain accurate production and labor records as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or associate degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in foundry or heavy manufacturing operations.
  • Previous supervisory or team lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of foundry processes, equipment, and materials.
  • Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
