Position: Parts Crib Attendant I

Amentum is seeking an entry level Parts Crib Attendant for our Manufacturing Maintenance team in East Peoria, IL!

  • Hours may vary based on needs of the business.
  • Overtime on Saturdays may be required to meet critical business demand.

The Parts Crib Attendant maintains, and orders needed materials promptly to ensure smooth workflow. Effectively communicates with the site management team and all customers to resolve systems/operations issues and promote efficient, positive working relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Put new parts away
  • Receive in crib parts paperwork
  • File all crib receipts and tickets every day
  • Loan out tools
  • Email mechanic if loaner tools are overdue
  • Make sure tools aren’t damaged or dirty
  • Organize and clean open access drawers (new drawer mats, clean containers, plastic covers, etc.)
  • Battery counts
  • Cycle counts – counting stock in the crib and UP
  • Restock wire on racks, zip ties, tags
  • Restock parts in HH and IAC
  • Monthly out of stock list for parts in crib
  • File all crib tickets and receipts for the month together
  • Make sure nothing is contaminated (bags, containers, couplings that aren’t closed or have caps)
  • Send parts to other facilities if requested
  • Send out drill bits and taps to be sharpened
  • Checks fluid levels in the tank farm, provide support in ordering bulk fluids, oversee bulk fluid deliveries.
  • Keeps accurate records, including closing/printing PM work orders, and orders materials on a Min/Max ordering system, setting appropriate lead times on each item.
  • Issues items to the shop floor, and reorders as necessary using the Ariba system.
  • Maintains professional and courteous customer relationships with client, vendor, and internal team.
  • Ensures spare parts inventory is received, maintained, and distributed according to specified procedures.
  • Keeps inventory and all related records organized and orderly for ease of retrieval.
  • Prepares and audits spare parts requisitions for purchase.
  • Keeps daily reporting current with status of spare parts.
  • Controls access to the spare parts crib.
  • Issues spare parts to technicians upon request.
  • Prepares spare parts requisitions as required.
  • Assigns work order numbers to spare parts requisitions.
  • Maintains knowledge of spare parts used to support our maintenance team.
  • Works with UPS Daily for receiving and shipping of material
  • Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
  • Operates various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions.
  • Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
  • Maintains a strict schedule to be successful in the assignment yet demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.

  • This is an entry-level position with no prior work experience required.
  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
  • This position may require a valid Driver’s License.
  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
  • This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
  • This position may require overtime, various shifts, weekends, holidays, and alternative work schedules.
Physical /Special Requirements
  • Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
  • Requires the flexibility to stretch/reach, bend/stoop, squat, kneel, move in a 90-degree fashion repetitive for shift.
  • Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
  • Requires the ability to stand continuously for 4 hours at a time.
  • Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
  • Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
