Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: IT Operations Technician (Production Systems & OT)

This is not a role for someone who is comfortable staying behind a desk or waiting for issues to arise. At Korpack, we’re looking for an IT Operations Technician who thrives on being embedded in the action—directly within our production and warehouse environment. This is a high-impact, hands-on role built for someone who obsesses over system performance, operator experience, and eliminating friction at every level.

The mission of this role is clear but demanding: ensure that when an operator selects a Work Order, the entire production line—Continuous Inkjet, Print and Apply, and Checkweighers—configures itself instantly and flawlessly. You are the guardian of the “One-Click” standard. You don’t just manage systems—you ensure they are so intuitive, reliable, and error-proof that downtime is virtually eliminated and accuracy becomes automatic.

If you’re energized by solving real-time operational challenges, working at the intersection of IT and production, and building systems that simply work, this could be your perfect fit.

The Journey

Operator Experience & Workflow Optimization

Own the operator experience by ensuring every interaction with technology is frictionless, intuitive, and efficient. Minimize time spent on screens and maximize production output.

Design and maintain error-proof (Poka-Yoke) systems that make it impossible for operators to select incorrect recipes or input wrong data. Accuracy should be the only possible outcome.

Ensure consistency in UI/UX across all tablets and stations, reducing cognitive load and enabling seamless operation across the floor.

Data Mapping & Automated Orchestration

Maintain the integrity of Work Order logic, ensuring the correct recipes are automatically triggered for each job.

Own the “handshake” between database systems and production equipment, guaranteeing 100% reliability in communication and execution.

Perform regular floor walks to verify that machines are executing instructions correctly, including templates, lot codes, and configurations.

Ensure closed-loop, bi-directional data flow between equipment and systems, confirming real-time feedback and tracking against active work orders.

IoT Connectivity & Device Governance

Administer Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems to enforce strict kiosk-mode environments on operator tablets.

Ensure devices are locked down to only essential functions—eliminating distractions, preventing misconfiguration, and maintaining system integrity.

Production Reliability & Continuous Improvement

Proactively identify and eliminate any operational friction or manual workarounds that slow down production.

Adopt a “zero-touch” mentality—automating processes wherever possible to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.

Respond with urgency to system failures, data mapping issues, or work order disruptions to prevent downtime and maintain production continuity.

What Success Looks Like

Seamless, “one-click” work order execution across all production lines

Near-zero downtime caused by system or data failures

A fully error-proofed operator experience with minimal intervention required

Reliable, real-time communication between systems and production equipment

Continuous identification and elimination of inefficiencies across the operation

The Requirements

Required Experience

3–5 years of experience in Industrial IoT, systems integration, or similar environments

Strong experience managing integrations between databases and industrial hardware

Deep understanding of industrial networking within high-interference warehouse environments

Experience working in high-pressure, uptime-critical environments where downtime has immediate operational impact

Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset

This is a full-time, on-site position based in our Bloomingdale and St. Charles facilities. Due to the hands-on nature of this role, remote work is not an option. We are not offering relocation assistance at this time—candidates must be local to the Chicagoland area.

Preferred Experience

Background in reliability engineering or environments requiring near-perfect system consistency

Experience with MDM platforms and device governance in…
