Watchmaker I
Responsible for performing watch repair and maintenance services with accuracy, care, and efficiency in a fast-paced workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities- Battery replacement, including pop-off, screw-down, and case backs with screws.
- Tool maintenance, keeping all watchmaker tools in good working condition and maintaining a neat and clean workspace.
- Micrometer usage to ensure precise measurements and adjustments.
- Pressure testing to verify water resistance and diagnosing issues for repair.
- Movement setting, accurately setting perpetual calendar movements and ensuring proper functionality.
- Stone setting, setting foil back stones with precision and care.
- Movement changes, changing 2-3 hand and chronograph movements efficiently, ensuring all components are correctly assembled.
- Crystal replacement, replacing watch crystals and verifying water resistance.
- Pin replacement, inserting all types of pins in watch bands and cases.
- Cleanliness and precision, keeping dials and hands clean and dust-free during disassembly and reassembly.
- Part sourcing, identifying movement or case back numbers to source necessary parts for repairs and maintenance.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. - Experience:
Previous experience in watchmaking or a related field is a plus. - Skills:
Strong attention to detail and precision; ability to work with small and delicate components; excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. - Personal attributes:
Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong problem-solving skills; good communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and use hands to manipulate small components.
- Good eyesight and ability to perform detailed work with precision tools.
- Workshop environment with specialized equipment.
- Occasional interaction with customers to discuss repairs and maintenance.
US $16.00 – $17.00 per hour, with final pay rate determined based on experience and qualifications.
