Komatsu’s Mechanical Assemblers perform a wide range of component and final assembly work in the production of Komatsu’s off‑road mining trucks. Some examples of this work include building and testing brake assemblies, installation of hydraulic components, and the final assembly of chassis and power train structures.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Perform various mechanical and electrical assembly functions including assembly of hydraulic equipment, installation and adjustment of mechanical components, mechanically finalize and test equipment prior to shipment.
  • Work from engineering prints, routings, and procedures with minimum supervision.
  • Be responsible for quality and safety of own work including the use of appropriate protective equipment.
  • Under direction of an Electrical Assembler, may install harness structures, cables, and power cables, but may not make final connections.
  • Disassemble and load equipment for shipments as directed.
  • Perform light carpentry work such as designing, sawing, and building boxes, crates and ladders.
  • Use information systems as necessary to perform job duties.
  • Operate equipment and perform inspection including appropriate documentation.
  • Work with Engineering Department on new model introduction or continuous improvement.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Well qualified candidates will demonstrate three or more years of experience in automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment mechanic roles. Experience in aviation mechanic, marine mechanic, major appliance repair, or HVAC repair involving complex assembly, troubleshooting and repair will also be considered.
  • Experience and expertise in reading and utilizing blueprints to assemble and/or troubleshoot.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Computer literacy and experience using computer systems to document or retrieve information.
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely in an industrial environment.
  • Requirement to complete a physical test commensurate with DOL Medium duty work requirements which includes drug testing.
Hiring Range

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $34.49.
