** Role Definition:
** Are you looking for an opportunity to learn a specialized skill within a manufacturing environment? Caterpillar Building KK in East Peoria, IL is looking to train new employees that desire to become our next employees in Heat Treat. The
** Metal Treating Specialist Trainee
** program is a paid program designed to provide a unique learning experience for highly motivated individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in manufacturing and learning new skills. Positions available on 2nd and 3rd shifts after 4 - 6 weeks of training on 1st shift.
** What You Will Do (including but not limited to):
** Upon completion of the program, individuals will be responsible for:
* Set up, operation, and adjustment of heat-treat equipment to perform carburizing, cycle annealing and die quenching of gears Physical Qualifications (with or without accommodation).
* Work in environment with frequently changing temperatures, some extreme.
* Frequent walking, bending, reaching.
* Occasional stooping, crouching, and climbing.
* Repetitive grasping, pushing, pulling rotating.
* Standing for a minimum of 8 hour shifts.

* Basic Qualifications:

*** High school diploma or previous work/volunteer experience.
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
* Experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Basic computer skills.
* Ability to work overtime when required, including weekends.
** Top Candidates Will Have:
*** Previous heat treat experience.
* Previous machine shop experience.
* Strong commitment to safety at all times.
* Excellent attitude and willingness to learn.
** Additional Information:**
* ** 2nd shift:
** Monday - Friday 2:30PM - 10:30PM.
* ** 3rd shift:
** Monday - Friday 10:30PM - 6:30AM.
* Starting pay is $23.22 per hour.* $1.00 an hour night shift premium.
* ** This is a supplemental position – minimum 40 hours per week with limited benefits available.
*** Relocation is not offered for this position.
