TNAA Total Med RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois.

As a Med Surg RN, you will conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs. Med Surg RNs perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician. Documenting patient findings and providing education and support to patients' families is essential.
- Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑op patients.
- Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
- Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
- Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient.
- Educate patients on surgical procedures.
- Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
Medical Surgical RNs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty. RNs should be able to easily lift 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. RNs will work in a fast‑paced environment treating patients that may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative. Requirements: BLS certification, 1 year recent acute care experience.

Total Med Travel Job . Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
