Position: FMC Clinic Registered Nurse (RN)

Position

Family Medical Center Clinic RN (Full-time, 72-80 hours per pay period, Day Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm)

Education Requirements

Registered Nursing Degree from an accredited school of Nursing.

License Requirements

Current and valid Illinois Registered Nurse Licensure.

Certification Requirements

Current CPR certification.

Prior Experience

3-5 years of clinical experience in a clinic or hospital setting (physician office experience preferred).

Position Purpose

This individual will be responsible for assessing patient needs, providing patient education, and assisting the provider in the office setting for Urology and Surgery. Responsibilities include preparing exam and treatment rooms, obtaining and documenting vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, and assisting with instruments, materials, and equipment during procedures. This role will also coordinate and obtain prior authorizations for surgical procedures.

Additional duties may be assigned as needed, including providing coverage for other providers when the surgical schedule permits.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient needs.
  • Provide patient education.
  • Assist provider in office for Urology and Surgery.
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms.
  • Obtain and document vital signs and medical histories.
  • Prepare patients for examination.
  • Assist with instruments, materials, and equipment during procedures.
  • Coordinate and obtain prior authorizations for surgical procedures.
  • Provide coverage for other providers when schedule permits.
Knowledge

Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities. Includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventative health‑care measures.

Other Requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer and electronic medical records documentation skills.
  • Ability to use proper body mechanics when lifting, pushing or pulling.
  • Knowledge of practices in clinics.
  • Ability to manage and keep accurate records.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Must handle stressful situations and challenging deadlines.
  • Must multitask.
  • Must communicate with healthcare team and patients.
Wage Rate Range

$30.00/hr–$39.38/hr, based on experience and specific experience.
