Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Job Description

Pediatrics On Demand is an Urgent Care and Primary Care located in Oak Lawn, IL. We also have a sister company Minis Walk In Clinic. We serve patients from birth to 21 years of age.

• Part Time: 2 11-12 hour shifts
• Full Time: 3 11-12 hour shifts

• Locum PRN moonlighting opportunities are available

• Identify changes in a child’s signs and symptoms and intervene in emergent situations
• Differentiate between normal and abnormal physical findings
• Engage patients and their families in conversation to determine types and extent of illnesses
• Create and implement individualized plans of nursing care to meet each patient’s specific requirements
• Document all patient care activities
• Order and follow up on medical tests such as blood work, x-rays and other scans
• Diagnose and treat a wide array of acute, chronic and critical illnesses by effectively interpreting test results
• Educate patients and their families
• Act as a point of contact for responding to questions and concerns regarding treatments and illnesses
• Participate in community and clinic education programs
• Maintain current credentialing, license and board certification
• Administer medication using age-appropriate guidelines
• Evaluate a child for signs and symptoms of abuse
• Maintain privacy of patients
• Assist in supervision of health professional students
• Demonstrate integrity, care, and compassion when working with patients/families and staff
• Perform other duties assigned by Employer from time to time that are commensurate with professional services normally and customarily performed by a physician

• Illinois Nurse Practitioner License
• Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (Preferred)
• 1+ years of pediatric experience as a nurse practitioner
• Urgent Care experience is a PLUS
• Experience with high patient volume is a PLUS
• Weekend availability
