Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology

Peoria, IL

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | 12-Hour Shifts

• Provide direct patient care to oncology patients including those with diagnoses such as Lymphoma, Leukemia, Hematology conditions, Gynecologic Oncology, and Radiation Oncology.
• Administer IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy regimens following proper handling precautions including use of PPE, and monitor patients for medication side effects.
• Manage set-rate drips including heparin and 24-hour chemotherapy infusions such as Methotrexate.
• Perform EMR documentation using Epic Beacon.
• Collaborate with Charge RNs, House Supervisors, and Patient Care Technicians to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios based on unit census.
• Participate in float rotation to General Medical level-of-care units as needed, and adhere to every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday scheduling requirements.

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate.
• Demonstrated experience with IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration, including safe handling precautions and side effect monitoring.
• Ability to pass a drug screen; must comply with a drug-free workplace policy.

• Prior experience working in an acute oncology inpatient setting.
• Familiarity with Epic Beacon EMR documentation system.
• Experience caring for 1:1 patients receiving specialized medications or therapies.

• Work in a fully private-room, 19-bed oncology unit supported by a Charge RN and House Supervisor available 24/7, as well as Patient Care Technicians on every shift.
• Benefit from a collaborative scheduling process completed on a 6-week cycle with no on-call or standby requirements.
