2nd Shift 15:00–03:30, every 3rd weekend rotation, 50% holidays. Pay range: $38.20–$57.30.
A registered nurse (RN) for the Aurora Sinai Medical Center Emergency Department in downtown Milwaukee. The position is full‑time, 36hours per week, on a second shift (15:00–03:30) with a 50% holiday rotation and every third weekend.
Responsibilities- Engage in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence‑based practices.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families through the continuum of care.
- Monitor patient conditions, adjust care plans, mobilize resources, and collaborate with the care team to influence care outcomes.
- Uphold and promote a culture of safety.
- Continuously evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely according to clinical protocols and procedures.
- Demonstrate effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution, fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation.
- Pursue professional development, complete required education, and maintain certifications.
- Adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics, practice ethical decision‑making, respect interdisciplinary roles, and contribute to integrated, unbiased patient care.
- Delegate appropriately to other RNs, LPNs, and unlicensed assistive personnel.
- Maintain accurate, timely EHR documentation.
- Float to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area as needed.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to patients’ ages, applying principles of growth and development over the lifespan.
- Interpret patient data to identify age‑specific requirements and provide care per departmental policies and procedures.
Job Requirements
- Graduate of a Board‑of‑Nursing‑approved nursing education program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Active registered nurse (RN) license (multi‑state compact and/or single‑state) with privileges to practice where patient care is delivered.
- When practicing via telehealth/telenursing/virtual modalities, hold a license or privilege to practice in each state where the client is located.
- Responsible for compliance with the laws, rules, regulations, and standards of practice of each state where service is provided.
- 1+ year RN experience in an acute‑care setting.
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking.
- Effective time management, prioritization, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in computer functions including email, electronic records, and digital platforms.
- $4/hour shift differential for 2nd shift; $4/hour weekend differential.
- Up to $7,200 education assistance and nursing‑certification fee covered through ANCC’s Success Pays Program.
